STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- On a rare sunny Saturday sandwiched in between rainy forecasts, Staten Islanders emerged from their seclusion to enjoy the 60-degree weather in droves throughout the borough's numerous recreational areas.

The pedestrian walkway had an influx of foot traffic Saturday due to the nice weather. "We proactively installed signage on the shared use paths at the Goethals and Bayonne bridges earlier this month. They are in Spanish and English, and installed at multiple places on the paths, reminding users to respect social distancing guidelines of 6 feet apart," said Port Authority spokesperson Amanda Kwan.
