The winning streak continued for the Angels, as they defeated the Astros 7-6 to move to 4-1 on the season.
They entered the eighth inning trailing by two runs, but a four-run eighth helped them complete the comeback win. Albert Pujols and Jose Iglesias both reached with singles to lead off the inning and Shohei Ohtani walked to load the bases. After a Dexter Fowler single to bring in a run, the Angels then scored three runs without recording a hit.
David Fletcher tied the game with a forceout, Jared Walsh gave them the lead with a fielders choice and Anthony Rendon put them up two with a sacrifice fly.
The Astros rallied and put a run on the board in the ninth to pull to within one run, but they couldn’t complete the comeback as Mike Mayers picked up his first save of the season.
Jose Quintana made his first start for the Angels, and it got off to a rough start. He allowed three quick runs in the first inning, immediately putting LA behind early on. Quintana threw 3 1⁄3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
