Recruiting Roundup: Taking A Look At Who Could Commit Next In The 2022 Class - UW Dawg Pound

lailaikamu.blogspot.com

Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies picked up their 4th commit of the 2022 class last week when 3 star offensive lineman Parker Brailsford from Saguaro HS, AZ committed to UW. With what’s expected to be a smaller class I wanted to take a look at who could be the next commit in the 2022 class. Here are some candidates of who I think could be the next to join the class:

3 star offensive lineman Mark Nabou from O’Dea HS, WA has been really high on UW since he received a Husky offer. Rated as the 18th best offensive guard in the country, Nabou is mulling his options among his suitors including ASU, Oregon State, and UW. With the commitment of Brailsford, the UW will probably take 1 more interior offensive lineman and Nabou may be feeling some pressure to take the spot or risk losing it (to another in-state prospect like Vega Ioane). My hunch is that sometime soon either Ioane or Nabou will commit to the Huskies and wrap up the interior offensive line recruiting for the 2022 class. I am predicting Nabou rather than Ioane because Nabou has a teammate already at UW (Owen Prentice) and Ioane seems to be looking around more than Nabou is.

4 star tight end Ryan Otton from Tumwater HS, WA has been leaning to UW for a while, but he hasn’t pulled the trigger yet. Otton, who is rated as the 5th best tight end in the country, holds offers from most of the pac 12 including Oregon State, Stanford, Cal, Oregon, and UCLA. With his brother set to become a future high draft pick in the NFL after finishing his Husky career as a tight end it’s hard to not see Otton becoming a Husky. It seems like it’s just a matter of time before Otton commits but he is going to check out Stanford first. My prediction is that he commits to UW sometime in June.

3 star defensive tackle Ben Roberts from East HS, UT has been a huge (both literally and figuratively) target for the Huskies since he was offered in early April. With offers from around the country including Oregon, USC, and Tennessee the Huskies have some competition to land Roberts, however they have an inside track (having 2 players from East High School already on the roster). The Huskies have prioritized Roberts and I think he will commit to UW after he visits in June (he seems to really like UW and the familiarity of having guys on the roster he knows).

The last guy that I think is close to committing to UW is 4 star running back Emeka Megwa from Timber Creek HS, TX. Megwa, who is rated as the 24th best athlete in the 2022 class, unofficially visited UW for their spring game and is planning on visiting again in June. The Huskies are battling a lot of schools to land Megwa, namely Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. Megwa is a power back that the Huskies have typically recruited, and when you watch his film Megwa is a versatile player. Running backs coach Keith Bhonapha has done a great job recruiting Megwa and the Huskies should be able to wrap him up after he visits UW in June.

Feel free to comment and let me know if you think someone else besides the guys I listed will be the next commit. That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
