Weekend Flyer: Ghastly, Come from Away, Dial Up and more - Fayetteville Flyer

Ghastly, Come from Away, Dial Up

Happy Halloween, everyone.

We posted our list of Halloween-related stuff last week, including items for kids and families and events for adults last week, so some of this will feel like a repeat if you’ve been checking that list.

How about some tunes for Halloween? George’s will kick off their weekend with a performances by Ultra Suede and Flashback. Ultra Suede is always kind of in costume when they play, and I’ll be they’ll be stepping it up bigtime for this show. Also at George’s this weekend is an EDM show with Ghastly on Friday, and they’ve got a bands-as-bands Halloween show on Saturday with Lou Dog as Sublime, and the Mixtapes performing as Nirvana. On Sunday, they’ve got a Grateful Dead tribute with Forgotten Space. Tickets to George’s shows are here.

Also in Halloween music, JJ’s Live has a performance by Dial Up on Saturday night, with a costume party, contest, and more.

There’s also a cool show at Boston Mountain Brewing on Saturday night with Modeling, Fight Dream, and Olympics.

Former Fayettevillians Brother Moses would have been at Prairie Street Live on Friday, but after drummer Corey Dill was attacked trying to prevent a robbery of their equipment in Dallas last week, that show has been cancelled and instead Baang, Bootleg Royale, and Mildenhall will play. Here’s more info. The venue will host Deep Sequence on Saturday. Ticket info for that is here.

TheatreSquared has a new show called Tiny Beautiful Things playing this weekend, and we’ve heard good things about it. Ticket info to that is here.

Walton Arts Center has their first Broadway show in almost two years playing as well, and folks are raving about that one as well. It’s called Come from Away. Here’s our review, and here’s where to get tickets.

Want to see some talented mammer-jammers showing off their print and illustration work? Mount Sequoyah Center will host a new installment of Big-Bot’s Death Ray Illustration Expo this weekend. Here’s more about that.

Fayetteville Public Library will host a cool trick-or-treating event for kids, featuring allergy-friendly trick or treating, performances and more as part of their Super Saturday lineup. Here’s more.

The football Hogs are off this week, but the men’s basketball team is in action on Saturday versus North Texas at Bud Walton Arena. It’s an exhibition, so it doesn’t count on their record, but the Hogs will be looking to bounce back from a little bit rough opening night performance last weekend against East Central. It’s a 4 p.m. tipoff.

Down on Block Avenue, Pinpoint has transformed into a full-on Halloween bar for the weekend for Bo Counts’ Nightmare on Block Street, Maxine’s Tap Room is fully-decked out in a Wizard of Oz theme this year, and Big Box Karaoke is doing costume karaoke all weekend.

Here’s more Halloween related stuff, and there’s even more below. Have fun, and be safe, everyone.
