ORLANDO, Fla. — Thousands of people packed downtown Orlando Saturday afternoon for the 18th annual Come Out With Pride Festival.
The event is one of the largest LGBTQ Pride celebrations in the southeast U.S.

This year's Pride festival also highlighted National Coming Out Day, which was earlier this week on October 11th.
"I'm very excited," smiled Kim Murphy while standing behind her booth.
For Murphy, sharing her love of art is a way of bringing people together.
Painting Change is a passion project she officially launched in 2021.
Coming to pride isn't a new experience, but having her booth is a first.
"So it's fun to do something like this because they're looking at all these booths and see the painting and come running up. I love that when they're so excited to come and help," Murphy said.
With tubs of different colors in front of her, Murphy is happy to have conversations with new and familiar faces who stop by and say hello.
Even more, what comes off the bristles of each paintbrush is a message that embodies hope and being authentically yourself.
Working as an ally is something Murphy holds as a high priority.
She's a licensed mental health counselor, so creating platforms for people to express themselves freely comes naturally.
"It means so much to me just be able to come here and give love and support to the community," she explained.
Dozens of vendors were set up along with booths like the Murphy was running.
A parade also marched through the streets of Downtown Orlando.
Taking part in all of the events is something Murphy doesn't take for granted.
"Now, doing this out here in the open for everyone to see, it's like I get to do a public acknowledgment of the beauty of the person."
