Friday: We'll see plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid-80s. A mild south wind will direct cooler Lake Superior air along the North Shore. The focus remains on the potential for severe thunderstorms overnight and this weekend. The system will make its debut with a spotty shower for parts of Northwest Wisconsin Friday evening ahead of the warm front, but the active storms will brew in North Dakota and approach Beltrami County around 9 p.m. The storms will then move east across the Northland overnight into early Saturday morning. Damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rain will be the main concerns.
Saturday: Once the morning storm exits the region, we enter a brief quiet stretch with heat and humidity taking center stage with a high of 86. This instability will fuel the next round of potentially severe storms in the evening as the cold front swings in with the familiar concerns of damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain. The best chance or this redevelopment extends from Crow Wing County to Two Harbors and east of there, spanning Northwest Wisconsin.
Sunday: Dry air brings relief behind the front Sunday with rain chances confined along the international border. Sunday will be the day to get outside this weekend with partly cloudy skies, a 10-15 mph northwest wind and a high temperature near 80.
