HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It’ll be a sunny and seasonably mild day as temperatures rise into the lower 50s this afternoon. Winds will be out of the west northwest at 5 to 15 mph. We’ll see quiet weather tonight as temperatures fall back into the 20s. Saturday will be the most enjoyable day for the next week. High temperatures will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s. Skies will remain sunny. Saturday night will remain clear, but after midnight, a cold front will quickly push southeast through the area. Behind that front, winds will begin to kick in out of the north. Lows Sunday morning will drop into the upper 20s and low to mid 30s. Highs on Sunday will be much cooler, but not too far from average highs in the upper 30s and low to mid 40s. We’ll see a few clouds pass through behind the front. The most notable issue on Sunday will be the winds. Strong winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph out of the north will make for a very unpleasant day. This will also make it feel chillier.
It’ll be a colder start to the work week next week as most will see lows in the 10s. Highs will return to the low to mid 40s with plenty of sunshine. Tuesday will be a mostly sunny day with highs in the mid to upper 40s. Chillier air will be returning on Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s. There will be more clouds around on Wednesday. As of right now, I do not have any precipitation in the forecast as there isn’t enough forecast model consistency. But keep an eye on future forecast to see if a slight chance for light snow needs to be included for Wednesday.
