College hockey: Northland products come up big in Saints' victory over Lawrence - Duluth News Tribune

Allie Bussey of Hibbing and Jessie Ketola of Silver Bay scored two goals apiece as St. Scholastica steamrolled Lawrence 9-1 in their NCHA opener Saturday in college women’s hockey in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Lori Huseby and Ashlea Arvidson combined on 14 saves for the Saints (4-0), while Sydney Seeley had 70 saves for Lawrence (0-1), which was playing in its first game as a program.

CSS did not skate for seven days prior to the contest due to COVID-19 protocols. The Saints set a program record with 79 shots on goal and had their most goals in a game since February 2017.

Rose Beeman needed only nine saves to get the win for UWS (2-0), while Teagan Johnson and Soleil Archambeault combined on 38 stops for Northland (0-4).

Tyler Hinterser scored a pair of goals in his first career multi-goal game to lead the Saints (1-5 overall, 0-3 NCHA).

CSS lost despite outshooting Lawrence 37-30.
