ROCKFORD (WREX) — Sunday begins with mostly cloudy conditions and potential dense fog in some areas. Fog and clouds give way as winds increase into Sunday afternoon. Temperatures continue to climb into the next week.
Windy Sunday:
With the slight chance for drizzle and fog out of the area come Sunday morning, the day is expected to be breezy. Cloudy skies will give way for partly cloudy skies with some rays of sunshine Sunday afternoon.
Winds will be out of the southeast early in the day at 10-15 miles per hour, later shifting to west winds at 15-20 miles per hour. Wind gusts could reach 35 miles per hour or more.
Sunday will remain dry with cloud cover diminishing throughout the day leaving just breezy conditions for your Sunday and a clear Sunday night.
Warmer temperatures:
With Saturday and Sunday already seeing temperatures into the low to mid 40s, a cooler Monday will only give way to very pleasant conditions for the rest of the week.
This Monday, we will see temperatures remain cool only making it into the upper 30s. As sunshine sticks around for a majority of the week, conditions will be pleasant and dry. There is little to no chance for rain or snow for the next week.
Next week includes the low temperatures still fall below freezing during a few nights, thawing of snow and ice during the day may lead to slick spots during the night as it freezes back over.
Moving pass Monday and into the latter part of the week, high temperatures are expected to reach near 50 degrees with a few passing clouds. The last day we saw a 50 degree plus day was December 23rd. In fact, the average for February is to see just 2 days in or above the 50s. Warm and above average temperatures will dominant next week.
