A new airline is set to come to Mobile - Fox 10 News

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Passengers flying out of Mobile International Airport will soon have another option when it comes to air travel.

Breeze Airways will offer flights to Orlando from the airport at Brookley. The official announcement came this morning at 9:15.

Several special guests were in attendance, including Mobile Airport Authority President Chris Curry, Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, Mobile Chamber President and CEO Bradley Byrne and the head of state and local affairs for Airbus, Vraig Savage.

Mobile’s newest airline will use Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which are built at Brookley.

Breeze airways says it focuses on providing efficient and affordable flights between secondary airports, bypassing hubs for shorter travel times. Breeze offers city-to-city flights from several different markets across the United States.

The airline was founded by David Neeleman, who previously co-founded WestJet and JetBlue.

Last month Avelo Airlines announced it was suspending service from Mobile International to Orlando starting in March.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
