'The only job': 42-year-old says he'd come out of retirement to become a coach at Chelsea now - The Chelsea Chronicle - Chelsea FC News

Chelsea legend John Terry has said a return to the coaching setup at Stamford Bridge is the only job he would come out of retirement for.

He claimed on Stephen Hendry’s Cue Tips that he would love to return to the club he spent so many years with, winning so many trophies along the way.

There is set to be a big change in the coaching staff at the club after it was announced yesterday that Graham Potter had been sacked from his role as manager.

While Bruno is set to take over for the time being, it is widely expected that a new figure will come in before the start of next season at the very latest.

Julian Nagelsmann is a name who has been strongly linked with the job, perhaps understandable after he was recently sacked by Bayern Munich.

Terry would return to Chelsea

It has been claimed that the German is unsure as to whether to take the role this season, with his original preference being to wait until the end of the campaign before getting another job.

He may already have his first member of staff ready and raring to go. Terry has claimed it is the only job in football that he would return for.

He said: “I’m done with first team coaching, the only job I’d come out of retirement for would be the Chelsea first team in some capacity”

With the passion Terry has always had for his former club, there is absolutely a role for the captain of so many years to play back at Stamford Bridge.

The decision for the next manager is going to be a big one for Todd Boehly to make, with it fair to see the hiring of Potter turned out to be a failure.
